Aims
Our aim is to breed a self replacing prime lamb flock which is
easy to care for and returns the maximum dollars per hectare.
This is being achieved by having a high fertility flock which produces
fast growing lambs that are eagerly sought after for future breeders
(surplus young ewes for commercial prime lamb flocks, rams and cast
for age ewes) and wether lambs that have superior meat and skin
qualities making them suitable for slaughter at weaning or for growing
out to export weights.
Future
We will continue to embrace new technology and ideas as they become
available and will monitor new market trends as they evolve. We
have a ram in the genomics program that is been carried out at the
Falkiner research station in NSW.
This program is the largest ever carried out in the world and it
will identify the gene markers for all of the major traits in sheep.
It is not far off when we will be doing DNA tests on all our sheep
to determine the major genes that they carry.
